Mikron Tool at the IMTS in Chicago
- Big interest for the new Tools for stainless steel materials
The people in charge at Mikron Tool were satisfied indeed after participating at the IMTS in Chicago from 12 to 17 of September 2016. Lots of traffic at the booth and great interest in the products, this is how the week can be quickly summed up.
For the first time the Swiss cutting tool manufacturer Mikron Tool was at the show in Chicago with its own booth. Hence there was a certain doubt, how many visitors would find the way to the booth 2485 in the West Hall. However, the echo was throughout positive, at the booth itself as well as at the press conference and the seminar, where participants received a detailed presentation of the new products. Overall the team welcomed 284 visitors from 13 countries and 40 American states.
At this exhibition Mikron Tool presented itself for the first time as specialist for the precise and fast drilling and milling of stainless steels as well as heat resistant and CrCo alloys. The focus of all the new cutting tools made from solid carbide lies with an efficient cooling, which is the key to success for a process safe machining.
Whether it is for the drilling or milling in the diameter range of 0.3 up to 8mm (.012” to .315”), whether it concerns 3xd or 50xd, cooling channels always are crucial for a maximum cooling effect. For this a special shape of the coolant ducts guarantees a maximum cooling effect and an efficient evacuation of chips from the machining area. Precisely these were the new capabilities which attracted above all the visitors from industries, which work with demanding materials. Aerospace and the Medical industry segments are typical examples for this.
The conclusion: Participating is worthwhile
