As part of its long-term growth strategy, Mikron Tool is strengthening its commitment to the North American market with the establishment of a new production plant with warehouse in Illinois. Local production and regrinding services from 2027 onwards, will enhance responsiveness while improving shipping time and shipping flexibility.

Mikron Tool is advancing its long-term growth strategy in North America with the establishment of a new production unit in the United States. The initiative reflects the ambition to further strengthen the company’s presence in one of its key markets and to produce locally, delivering Swiss Precision Made in the USA.
Strategic Location in Illinois
The new facility with warehouse will be located in Elk Grove Village, in the Chicago metropolitan area, near Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Illinois offers favorable conditions to start and scale production, including access to industrial space, a skilled workforce, and robust infrastructure. Its central location provides proximity to strategic suppliers, particularly for coating solutions and carbide, and supports reduced lead times for special tools and regrinding services.
Strengthening Local Capabilities
The site will operate as a production department within Mikron Monroe, which remains our registered office, ensuring continuity, cost efficiency, and compliance with established governance through an expanded Tool Engineering and Sales Assistant team, and will be positioned close to the market to better support customers and sales activities.
